Professional certification or qualification, is a designation earned by a person to assure qualification to perform a specific job or task. Certifications are earned from a professional society or from an IT vendor (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, etc.). In general, these qualifications must be renewed periodically, or may be valid for a specific period of time (e.g., the lifetime of the product upon which the individual is certified). Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is a popular certification in computer networking developed by Cisco Systems to recognize basic competency in installation and support of medium-sized networks. The CCNA exam is the composite exam associated with the CCNA Routing and Switching certification. Cisco Certified Networking Professional(CCNP) is a professional level networking certification developed by Cisco to recognize advanced skills in computer networking, particularly for installation and support of medium-sized LAN/WAN networks (having 100-500 nodes). The CCNP focuses on routing and switching of scalable networks including intranets and campuses. One must hold an active CCNA certification to be eligible for a CCNP. This course is intended for participants undertaking or wish to undertake the Project Management Professional (PMP) Essential course. The course follows the Project Management Body Of knowledge (PMBOK) 3rd Edition. The title PMP is an internationally accepted recognition of project management knowledge and professionalism of the successful participant. Simply put, this is a professional certification of the participant in the area of project management. According to CertCities.com 2006 annual reader survey, the Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential has ranked among the “Hottest Certifications” for the third consecutive year among professionals planning to gain certifications within the next 12 months. This survey shows an increase in membership from 2004 to 2005 of over 39% and a total of 87,776 new PMP’s in 2005. There are over 185,894 PMP’s worldwide who provide project management services in 125 countries. The growth over last eight years is in the range of 20 times from 1998 to 2006. Many corporations require the PMP® credential for an individual to qualify for employment an advance within the corporation. The accreditation is the world’s most recognized credential for individuals associated with project management. For your information, the cost for sitting for the examination per participant is about US$555 (non-PMI® member), and payment is made direct to the Project Management Institute, USA (please see PMP Certification Handbook found at www.pmi.org for complete details). However, it would still be cheaper if the participant applies to be a PMI® member first, followed by applying to sit for the PMP® Examination. PRINCE2 is the most widely accepted methods for managing projects in Europe, Australia and Canada, and it is rapidly gaining strengths in Asia, specifically China PRINCE2 embodies established and proven best practice in project management. It is a method that is business-driven, scalable and applicable to any kind of project. Various surveys have found that organizations that adopted the PRINCE2 are better able to manage the constraints of Scope, Quality, Cost and Schedule; and achieve greater customer satisfaction and benefits.
The course will provide delegates with a comprehensive and practical understanding of the PRINCE2 project management method, and help prepare delegates for the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Examinations. For a PRINCE2 Foundation qualification you should complete an accredited PRINCE2 computer based training course or PRINCE2 classroom course including the official exam for the PRINCE2 basics and terminology and to gain PRINCE2 Foundation certification.
To become a registered PRINCE2 Practitioner, which is the highest level of PRINCE2 qualification, you need to complete an accredited PRINCE2 Practitioner blended learning course or PRINCE2 Practitioner classroom course, both of which include the PRINCE2 Foundation qualification and both exams.
